Vigan is Asia's most intact example of a planned Spanish colonial town, founded in the 16th century. The two-story structures are constructed of brick and wood, with a steeply steeply pitched roof reminiscent of traditional Chinese architecture. The upper storey's exterior walls are surrounded by window panels made of kapis shells framed in wood that can slid back for improved ventilation. The majority of the existing buildings were most likely constructed between the mid 18th and late nineteenth centuries. Vigan is notable for retaining much of its Hispanic colonial character, particularly its grid street pattern and historic urban layout. Its significance also stems from how he various architectural influences are combined to create a cohesive townscape. I also noticed that the Vigan City's street are lined with beautiful Spanish colonial-style architecture and houses. which further immerse visitors in the local experience. The locals are always friendly, and your visit to this incredible city will undoubtedly enrich your life. Vigan City is more than just history, it also hosts vibrant festivals, mouthwatering delicacies, and warm hospitality that make visitors feel at home. Vigan is home to different festivals, and the longganisa festivals is the kick off these culturalcelebration in the city. The city government of Vigan usually make sure that the local and us tourist will experience nothing but the best. The longganisa Festival is held every 22nd day of January, and theVigan City fiesta is on January 25th. These double celebration revolved on the thanksgiving for gain that the city have reaped over the past years.
To celebrate the two occasions, several activites were lined up that makes me so excited. On January 18, an academic competition was undertaken by depED Vigan City Division followed by the Education Day on January 19 where they parade in the morning, competed in the marching band Exhibition at Plaza Burgos and capped their night with students.
The Balikan and Agricultural Day was held on January 21, wherein it kicked of with the Agri-float Parade in the morning and in the evening. They are farmers that displayed their product in a floating parade. Vigan City Festival amused me becuase of the many activities that were happening.
January 22 was the highlight of the celebration, the promotion of their local product, the Vigan Longganisa was intensified with the holding of the longganisa Cookfest showdown wherein ten teams from the different restaurant/hotels and schools participated in the competition.
I do not regret visiting Vigan City, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The people here are so nice to me, and I am glad I picked Jaunary to visit because i was able to celebrate their festival with them. I love how they celebrate-they showed me that they are very proud and happy of their city. May we meet again, Vigan City. You were such a wonder and beautiful City.
